Big South Fork - 14 degrees!

Posted by on Monday, February 12, 2007 (CST)

Sometimes it can be a lot colder than you expect.

We pulled into Big South Fork a little after 11:00pm on Friday night.  It was supposed to be 22 degrees.  Everyone had their 20 degree sleeping bag with their 5 degree liner.  Well, it turned out a little colder than we expected.  It was 14 degrees Saturday morning.

Saturday backpacking was great!  Beautiful sunshine.  Wonderful weather.  Then slightly after midnight Saturday, the rain started.  It rained all night, all through breakfast, during the entire hike out, and the entire drive home.  It was a wet ending to a most awesome trip.

Check out our photographs.
