There are only a few places in the world like the Sierra Nevada mountains. At almost 400 miles long and over 60 miles wide, the Sierra Nevada mountain range offers unparalleled vistas and unique opportunities for those willing to take them.
Troop 96 has ventured to the high Sierras several times in the past. This trip was designed for two groups of scouts, an older group, and a younger group. The older group backpacked over 60 miles through mountain passes over 10,000 feet. The younger group did more than 25 miles at a maximum elevation of about 8,800 feet.
